CAPONI E MARSILI
Our Approach
Our wines hold different meanings for each of us, encompassing the essence of our land, cherished traditions, modern technology, family, shared experiences, and heartfelt emotions.
Tradition
For over six decades, our family has cultivated the region’s native grape varieties, including Montepulciano, Pecorino, and Passerina. Our commitment to tradition is at the core of our vineyard.

Family
Our family’s unwavering commitment is the driving force behind everything we do, providing the inspiration and support necessary to bring our vision to life.
In fact, our wines are named in honor of our loved ones.
Sharing and Emotions
The enchanting and captivating landscapes of our region evoke powerful emotions that we love to share with others. Our warm hospitality enhances the pleasure of savoring our wines.
History
Our winery is born out of a deep love for viticulture and our homeland. The Caponi and Marsili families, from whom our name is derived, have always shared a strong bond…
Our connection to the Val d’Aso, in particular, dates back to the 1960s when Enrico Marsili, affectionately known as Rico, purchased the very lands we continue to cultivate and planted the first vines.

At that time, the valley was primarily devoted to fruit cultivation, and the wine market was still a minor player.
The initial vineyard in our estate was planted with Montepulciano grapes, which today give rise to our “Rosso Marche.” This vineyard served as the cornerstone and driving force for the development of our winery. In 2019, a portion of the estate founded by Enrico Marsili passed into our hands, and the “Caponi e Marsili” Agricultural Company was established.
Driven by the passion of Enrico Caponi, the company’s enologist and grandson, we decided to replant some of the vineyards and construct our own winery on our land, allowing us to enhance and make our wine truly unique.
The original Montepulciano vineyard, named “Rico” (1.2 hectares), has been meticulously restored and modernized, while preserving a significant portion of the old vines and its original character.

In addition to this, we’ve planted white grape vineyards. Initially, we introduced Pecorino and Passerina, which form the backbone of our white wines, covering a total of 3 hectares of land. Later, we made the decision to incorporate two unique grape varietals on 0.2 hectares: Gold Traminer (a cross between Traminer and Trebbiano Abruzzese) and Müller.
We’ve also diversified our red wine production by introducing two more unusual grape varieties for our region: Merlot and Syrah, which occupy an area of 1.5 hectares.
These two grape varieties have proven to adapt remarkably well to our terroir, expressing distinct and remarkable characteristics.
